Technological and Economic Development Research Center

TEDRC was established in 1990 with the main purpose of dealing with issues on the impact of technological developments on the internaitonal, regional and Turkish economy. he center has come into being at a time when science-based technological advances in fields like microelectronics and biotechnology are having a great impact on many sectors of economic social life. It is vital for developing countries like Turkey that the research on the interdepence of technologicaland be integrative so as to link technological developments to the broader framework of development strategy and industrialization policy. The organizational structure of TEDRC encompasses the relationship with the non-university (public/private industryand services sectors) circles. In this context, TEDRC adopts a multidisciplinary approach in carrying out research work within the university and also in collaboration with foreign universities and research work institutions. The center`s pool of researchers consists of 137 academicians from different (11) engineering faculties of Istanbul Technical University.
