Violence Against Women: How Close, How Far Away?

İTÜ ARI Teknokent and İTÜNOVA TTO will draw attention to the problem of violence against women within the context of International Women’s Day. On Friday, 6 March, the seminar "Violence Against Women: How Close, How Far Away?” will take place in İTÜ ARI Teknokent - ARI 3 building conference hall. The seminar in which Attorney Hülya Gülbahar, one of the pioneers of Turkish women’s movement, will speak will start at 14:00.

Who is Hülya Gülbahar?

Born in İzmir in 1960. Graduate of Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Law. Hülya Gülbahar, one of the activists of Turkish women’s movement since 1978, served as the voluntary lawyer of Purple Roof Women’s Shelter Foundation for many years. She is also one of the founders of Women’s Media Watch Group (MEDİZ) and served as the chairwoman of Association for Support of Women Candidates (KA-DER) between 2007-2010.
