First Marie Curie Fellowship within the scope of ITU’s Horizon 2020

“TESNinSAB” Project of Dr. Emel Topuz was evaluated in the context of Marie Sklodowska Curie Individual Fellowship 2015 and deemed to deserve support.
The project named “Fate and Toxic Effects of Silver Nanoparticles and Its Transformation Products in Soil Applied with Biosolids “TESNinSAB” of Graduate Assistant Dr. Emel Topuz, ITU Civil Engineering Faculty, Environmental Engineering Department, will be supported within the scope of AB Horizon 2020 Marie Sklodowska Curie Individual Fellowship 2015.

In her research, Dr. Emel Topuz will investigate the accumulation of silver nanoparticles, that are directly or indirectly carried to environment as a result of nanotechnology used commonly in recent years to increase the performance of daily life products, in mud formed in waste water treatment facilities and damage caused by the use of this mud as fertilizer in agriculture on human and environmental health.
Topuz, who brought ITU the first Marie Sktodowska Curie Fellowship within the scope of Horizon 2020, will conduct her studies under the supervision of Prof. İsmail Koyuncu at Prof.Dinçer Topacık Ulusal Membran Teknolojileri UYG-AR Center. The Project which has the total budget of 145.845 Euros, will last for two years.
