ITU’s First Jean Monnet Module Receives Funding within the Framework of European Union Erasmus+ Programme

Coordinated by Dr. Didem Özgür, who is an expert in Istanbul Technical University European Union Centre Research Office, the project entitled “The Protection of Geographical Indications and Traditional Speciality Guaranteed in the European Union Law” has been selected for funding under Jean Monnet Activities. This is the first ITU project that falls under the scope of European Union Erasmus+ Jean Monnet programme and will be awarded 11.510,00 Euros.

The three-year project will consist of courses for ITU students on products with geographical indications and traditional specialties. After learning the basic concepts related to the European Union, the students who take the course will be taught how products with geographical indications and traditional specialties are protected in the world, the European Union, and Turkey.
