Project Entitled Art, Culture, Economy to Democratize Society: Research in Placemaking for Alternative Narratives Receives “RISE 2016” Fund

The project entitled “Art, Culture, Economy to Democratize Society: Research in Placemaking for Alternative Narratives”, coordinated by Mehmet Erkök of the Department of Industrial Design at the Faculty of Architecture, has been granted the Horizon 2020, Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions, Research and Innovation Staff Exchange Scheme (RISE) 2016 fund.
Starting in January 2017, the project will last 48 months, and Istanbul Technical University will be allocated an amount of 175,500 Euros from the 1,858,000 Euro project budget. The project aims to build intersectoral dialogue with the support of stakeholders through research and innovation activities in creative and artistic spaces.
The project consists of 8 academic and 12 civic institutions as stakeholders, who will work interactively to ensure interdisciplinary knowledge exchange. ITU researchers will go on research visits in various countries throughout the 37-month duration of the project.
