National Combat Hunter Planes Went for Talent Hunting

An important visit to ITU by TAI-TUSAŞ (Turkish Aerospace Industry Inc.): For 3 days, 11 experts from TAI were at ITU for the project of National Combat Hunter Planes.

These experts met the talented students from ITU at Ayazağa Campus in order to find the engineers to participate in the project of “National Combat Airplanes” (MMS), seen as Turkey’s the most important aviation project in the next 10 years and planned to replace F-16 planes having being used in Air Force since 1988.


Participating in IKZ16 held by ITU Career Center as the sponsorship of Faculty of Aeronautics and Astronautics, TAI determined 45 candidates proper for MMU Project among the senior students from Aeronautics and Astronautics Engineering department as a result of the pre-interviews held during the summit.

The candidates from ITU participated in one on one interviews with Human Resources Team and Technical Team at ITU Faculty of Aeronautics and Astronautics on the dates of April 27-28 and 29. Prof. Dr. Metin Orhan KAYA, the Dean of ITU UUBF, and Assoc. Prof. Salim ATAY, the Director of Career Center, watched the studies on site and emphasized their support and interest in the topic.


Broad and detailed interviews were carried out by an 11-person team highly experienced in their fields. At the end of these, 25 candidates from ITU will be invited to the Head Office in Ankara for the last interviews and proposals.  Our students will use their talents for National Combat Planes which will carry our country to the level of the most developed countries.
