Mar 19, 2015

İTÜ Rectorate Art Gallery (İTÜ RSG), opens its doors to a documentary photograph exhibition on 26 March. “Truck Drivers” exhibition that came into being through 3 years of labour by Photography Artist Altan Bal tells with black and white images the story of those who earn their living on the road and whose lives are built on longing.

Photography Artist Altan Bal will be İTÜ RSG’s guest between 26 March – 19 April 2015 with his “Truck Drivers – Documentary Photograph Exhibition” that was opened in İstanbul in 2008 and in Germany in 2012 and that made a great impact both times. He will be telling with his photographs the dreams he nourished under the influence of his father Fethi Bal who is a truck driver, the stories he collected while befriending the truck drivers he hitchhiked and dozens of stories that bring sometimes tears and sometimes laughter.

The exhibition that tells with 71 photographs the story of people who, in Bal’s words, “go on the road to risk their neck and steer the wheel in all kinds of weather” to be opened with the support of İFSAK will be open to art lovers’ visit every day of the week between 8:00-20:00 in İTÜ RSG.
