Our Faculty Member Became Head of ISOCARP Turkey National Delegation

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zeynep Günay, a faculty member of Urban and Regional Planning ITU, was chosen the head of the Turkish National Delegation of International Society of City and Regional Planners (ISoCaRP).

The ISOCARP network (International Society of City and Regional Planners) that brings together planners from all over the world, will be represented in Turkey by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zeynep Günay. The organization was founded in 1965 in Holland and aimes to encourage the exchange of professional knowledge between planners, enhances public awareness and understanding of major planning issues at a global level. ISOCARP, which organizes congresses, exhibitions, seminars, workshops and competitions related to planning policies and regulations, is one of the main civil organizations for planners with the motto “Saving for Better Cities”.   

Theory and policies on urban preservation, critical reviews on heritage, urban renewal, trends in global urbanization are among the subjects in the focus of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zeynep Günay. She has been taking part in various international workshops and projects since 2008. In 2012 and 2014 Günay had membership at ISOCARP as a National Delegate and Office Representative. In 2015 Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zeynep Günay was chosen the head of ISOCARP National Delegation of Turkey for three years.
