The registration for “Çetin Ceviz Startup Camp” 2016, which was initiated for the first time by ITU Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (GINOVA) last year and attracted a lot of attention, is still ongoing.

The “Porter” team, comprised of ITU students, took part in the “Çetin Ceviz Startup Camp” program last year, and today it is one of the ITU Seed companies. 2015 Çetin Ceviz Startup Camp’s winners, “Porter” team, applied their knowledge and ideas to the product and demonstrated it to consumers all over the world. We met with the “Porter” team to ask them about their experience.

Experience Gained at Çetin Ceviz

Porter team, which set out to solve the problems of the hotel management, improved the products using the knowledge obtained during the camp program. Erinç Arık, member of the Porter team says “When we came to the camp, we had no idea how to transform our idea into the product. But within one month of the program we learnt all the necessary steps, and, guided by the synergy and support of the camp, we managed to apply our knowledge to practice. With the recommendations given by Emrah Yalaz and Can Saraçoğlu from String Ventures and new vision our startup Porter company totally changed its course.”

Çetin Ceviz is Looking For Teams Oriented at Troubleshooting

The registration for “Çetin Ceviz Startup Camp” 2016, which was initiated for the first time by ITU Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (GINOVA) last year to support the development of the entrepreneurship and innovative skills of the ITU students, is still ongoing. The camp motivates students to find solutions to difficult technological problems as well as provides support to successful entrepreneurs.

In order to participate in the program, which focuses more on education than on competition, students must form their teams and develop a solution of the problem they found. Each team must include at least one member of ITU.

Only the projects that can be directly applied to practice, oriented on problem solving and unique projects designed with available resources, will be admitted to the evaluation. As a result of the interviews following the applications, 12 teams will be admitted to the camp.
In the scope of “Çetin Ceviz Startup Camp”, that is organized in collaboration with String Ventures, Emrah Yalaz and Can Saraçoğlu are going to provide necessary training program and financial support to the enterprises at the preliminary stage.
