What is Hyperloop?

The Hyperloop is a conceptual high-speed transportation system put forward in 2013 by entrepreneur Elon Musk, the founder of SpaceX and a co-founder of Tesla Motors.
“SpaceX Hyperloop Pod Competition” is a competition launched on 15 June, 2015 encouraging 318 engineering teams of 216 universities from 16 countries to develop their own designs of pods (passenger capsules). SpaceX, which aims to materialize the Hyperloop concept, will provide technical support to the engineering teams.
