Feb 23, 2016

The number of participants of Promotion Days at ITU, a leading institution in national and international entrepreneurship ecosystem offering 39 graduate programs at 13 faculties, 39 postgraduate and doctoral programs at 6 institutes on five different campuses, set up a new visitors’record this year.

ITU Promotion Days, organized this year under a motto “Future Starts Here and Now!” were held between 17-20 February at Suleyman Demirel Cultural Centre on Ayazaga Campus. The 4-day event, attended by almost 8.000 people, united prospective students coming, for the most part, from Istanbul and pupils from prominent schools and private teaching institutions from various regions of Turkey. Pupils as well as their parents had a chance to find answers to their questions by communicating with the university’s distinguished academic staff members and students and visiting faculties’ stands.

ITU Dual Diploma Programs

During the event the prospective students attended seminars and presentations delivered by ITU academicians. With special hourly tours around the campus the event participants had an opportunity to explore the campus life. Question-answer sessions with the ITU academicians enabled the prospective students to broaden their horizon. The pupils addressed questions concerning partnership programs with ABET, International Joint Bachelor Degree Programs and Erasmus while learning about the privileges granted by ITU. The prospective students were mostly interested in technology studies, dual diploma programs and forthcoming department programs. The programs and opportunities to study in the USA up to 2 years, which ITU as the leading university in Turkey in International Dual Diploma Programs offers to its students, were among the most popular questions among pupils.

Entrepreneurship and Social Media

The prospective students taking part in the “Promotion Days” this year explored different places on campus with entertaining activities prepared by ITU. The pupils shared their messages with #GelecekŞimdiBurada hashtag on the screens installed on the campus under a “Your Tweets” motto. Unique images of the campus taken by drones and cameras installed at ITU were recorded at the event. Pupils and students were also asked questions about ITU in the interviews during the event, and many interesting answers were obtained.

Our Rector, in the first place, as well as our academicians and graduates shared their experience and answered the questions at itu.anlatsin.com. The stand of ITU Radio, celebrating its 70th anniversary this year, also attracted a lot of visitors’ attention. The pupils enjoyed the music broadcast by ITU Radio on three different channels including the channels of Classical, Jazz/Blues and Rock music.
