In Amelia Earheart’s Footsteps: Good Scholarship News from Pınar Acar

Completing her Bachelor’s degree at ITU Astronautical Engineering Department in 2010 and obtaining her Master’s degree in the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics at ITU, Pınar Acar, as part of her PhD studies at Michigan University in the USA, earned Amelia Earheart scholarship which is though as the most prestigious scholarships in the world in the field of aviation.

In the memory of Amelia Earheart, the first woman pilot passed the Atlas Ocean alone, scholarships are awarded by Zonta International Foundation which aims to make the women more involved in employment and the main purpose of these scholarships is to increase the number of female researchers in the field of aviation. We congratulate Pınar Acar who filled our country and university with pride by being one of the outstanding PhD students in the field of aviation with the scholarship granted to only 35 PhD students meeting the requirements such as academic success, grade point average, the number of publications, and the innovative subject of dissertation. We also wish Pınar Acar a continued success.
