ITU has ranked among top 501-600 universities in the rankings, which are the global performance tables that judge research-intensive universities across their core missions. Also, ITU has been one of the eighteen Turkish universities listed in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2016-2017 and came 6th among the eighteen Turkish universities.

This year’s “KSB Clubs Festival” will make the students experience the much-longed-for eras of the past. In the festival organized by ITU Culture and Arts Union, young people who were able to witness only the final years of the 90s, will be able to have a closer look at the understanding of music, fashion, and entertainment of the previous decades. They will have fun listening to the songs that still ring in our ears, watching the dances conjuring up the disco culture of the 80s and delight in discovering the past.

The conference, with the main theme “Simulation and Optimization of Traffic and Transportation Systems”, brought together the experts and academics who presented their research and discussed their opinions on traffic and transportation systems of the future.

  • Another First By ITU: ITU Ship Equipment Test Center Has Been Accredited

    ITU Ship Equipment Test Center, a unit established in ITU Maritime Faculty last year, has been accredited as the first centre in Turkey that is entitled to conduct tests on ship equipment. With this development, the centre has taken its place among the ITU units accredited by TURKAK. With its accreditation status granted by TURKAK on 21 June, ITU Ship Equipment Test Centre is now entitled to conduct tests such as dangerous cargo packaging drop tests, impermeability tests, internal pressure (hyraulic) tests, and stowing tests.

  • ITU Projects win the 11th Senior Design Project Competition

    Organized by the Chamber of Electrical Engineers, the 11th Senior Design Project Competition took place on 18 June 2016, and the competing design projects were presented in the Istanbul branch of the chamber. Senior students showed a great deal of interest in the competition that has been organized for the past ten years with the aim of supporting scientific studies in the engineering disciplines of electrical, electronics, communication, biomedical, and control. In this year’s competition 55 projects were judged, 25 of them being in the category of “Electrical-Control” and 30 being in the category of “Electronics, Communication, and Biomedical”.
