Stating that he was impressed by ITU ARI Technopark’s atmosphere, which he found so congenial to entrepreneurship, and the surplus value created here, Greg Hands remarked that they would be willing to take part in negotiations to consider allocating some of the UK entrepreneurship funds to ITU ARI Technopark projects. Also, Hands noted that cities other than London could be alternatives for the European leg of ITU GATE project, through which ITU ARI Technopark introduces firms to the United States market.

Technological Entrepreneurship will improve the relationships with England

ITU Rector Prof. Mehmet Karaca also commented on the meeting with the UK Committee. Emphasizing that one of the chief goals of ITU ARI Technopark is to introduce national entrepreneurship projects to international platforms, Prof. Karaca mentioned the pre-incubation centers opened to this aim in Chicago and San Francisco. Karaca also stated that Greg Hands was very much interested in the operations of ITU Seed, which is the 8th incubation centre of Europe; ITU GATE, which functions as a bridge between ITU academicians and companies; and ITUNOVA TTO, our technology transfer office focusing on international operations. Prof. Karaca concluded his remarks saying, “We have discussed in our meeting with the UK Minister of State for International Trade, Greg Hands, that shares of Prosperity Fund and Katip Çelebi - Newton Fund could be increased. We exchanged ideas as to how we could create more value for Turkey and England through ITU ARI Technopark. Mr. Hands also stated that they could arrange meetings with London Stock Exchange for ITU ARI Technopark. Our greatest wish is that this meeting will help improve economic relationships between the two countries.”
