Oct 18, 2016

ITU GINOVA, a crucial constituent of the entrepreneurship ecosystem at ITU, is running various programs to support prospective entrepreneurs and function as a starting point for them.

Entrepreneurship and Innovation Certificate Program, which has been run by ITU GINOVA Entrepreneurship and Innovation Centre for the past three years, is designed to inspire and accelerate students' entrepreneurial knowledge and provide them with a roadmap on how to commercialize their projects. The program has received 500 applications this year and, getting TUBITAK’s support, it has proven itself to be one of the highest quality entrepreneurship programs in Turkey. This year’s program is made up of three levels: “Beginner Student”, “Academic”, and “Advanced”. It will be provided free of charge, between the dates 3 October-7 December, and train 50 students. In addition to basic theoretical knowledge of entrepreneurship, students participating in the program will get hands-on experience turning theory into practice and receive certificates upon successful completion of the program.

The record number of applications the program has received demonstrates ITU GINOVA’s contribution to increased awareness on entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial knowledge at ITU. In its first year, the program received 100 applications and included “Beginner” level, aiming to unveil the students’ potential for innovation and entrepreneurship. Soaring interest in the educational program, which has quintupled the number of applications just in three years, also consolidates the high ranking of our university in the Entrepreneurial and Innovative University Index.
