Delegation of Taiwanese Universities Visits Our University

Under the leadership of Vice Rector of Taiwan National University Dr. Luisa Shu-Ying Chang, the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, and representatives of the National Cheng Kung University visited our university in order to develop collaboration on academic and scientific research. Our guests, were hosted by our Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Karaca.

The delegation from Taiwan has accompanied by our Vice-Rector in Charge of Research, Prof. Dr. Alper Ünal, our Vice-President in Charge of Communication and Marketing Prof. Dr. Telem Gök Sadıkoğlu, International Education Student Dean Prof. Dr. Yılmaz Akkaya, Faculty of Architecture Prof. Dr. Murat Gül, Head of the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Akduman, Advisor to the Rector Responsible for Corporate and Visual Communications Assoc. Prof Dr. Gülname Turan, and Advisor to the Rector Responsible for International Relations Asst. Prof. Dr. Gülsen Uçarkuş.

Our visitors were inspired by the strength of our university’s research and educational infrastructure in electromagnetic measurement and imaging, control and avionics, earth science, climate change, and architecture expressing an interest in the creation of student and academic exchange programs and to exchange ideas for the purpose of forming a strategic business alliance.

Our Taiwanese visitors also gave separate presentations on their university's structure, objectives, and research areas. Then they listened to a special presentation on the mission and goals of how our university envisions being a "research university".

Continuing on their visit, the academics visited DMA Motor Vehicles Laboratories, the Control and Avionics Laboratory, the Medical Devices Research, Development and Application Laboratory as well as meeting with authorities from ITU ARI Teknokent.

A common view was reached on the development of a strong strategic business alliance in the fields of R&D and innovation as the delegation was informed about the university’s academy-industry cooperation concept and entrepreneurship ecosystem, with detailed information about the examples set by ITU Magnet and ITU SEED.
