Assoc. Prof. Dr. Onur Tunçer Wins Second Place Prize from the British Royal Academy of Engineering

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Onur Tunçer, instructor in our Aircraft Engineering Department received the second prize for his project presentation titled "Object Oriented Software Development for Propulsion Systems (PROPULSIM)" at the end of the "Leaders in Fellowship" training program organized by the Royal Academy of Engineering in England.

A total of 50 participants from four different countries participated in the "Leaders in Fellowship" training under the Newton Fund supported by the British Government. In these trainings, our country was represented by 10 persons selected jointly by TÜBİTAK and the Royal Engineering Academy of England from a pool of the last two year’s winners of techno-entrepreneur support from TÜBİTAK and the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology.

Turkish researchers who participated were hosted by First Undersecretary Cem Işık at the Turkish Embassy in London at the end of the program. Speaking at the reception, Işık said Turkey and Britain's cooperation in science and innovation continues on solid footing. The Undersecretary underlined that the Newton-Katip Çelebi Fund, which provides an important business alliance between Turkey and Britain in areas of higher education and innovation, has strongly supported researchers since 2014 and added that these initiatives will contribute to a more systematic and sustainable relationship between the two countries.
