Our Graduate Birol Dindoruk Becomes an NAE Member

The National Academy of Engineering (NAE), recognized as one of the most respected institutions in its field, In the United States, inducted our graduate, Birol Dindoruk as a member.

In the statement released by the National Engineering Academy, our 1984 alumnus of the Department of Petroleum Engineering, Birol Dindoruk, was selected as a member due to the significant work he has done on improved oil recovery and carbon dioxide management and his other contributions in this field. After graduating from Istanbul Technical University, he first completed his master's degree at Bosphorus University and then at the University of Alabama. He then received his Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering from Stanford University and lastly his MBA from Houston University. While he continues his career at Houston-based Shell International E & P Inc. as a Reservoir Engineering Technical Expert, he is also the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Gas Science and Engineering in addition to his role as the PVT/Reservoir Fluid Characterization Team Leader at Shell International E & P.

The NAE, made up of research institute chiefs and senior managers, is known for its meticulous selection of engineers who make significant contributions to the field, pioneering new and emerging technologies that bring new and viable approaches to engineering education.
