Climate Change Protocol Signed Between ITU and HKU

We signed a protocol with Hasan Kalyoncu University (HKU) titled "Protocol on Cooperation in Research and Development Projects on Climate Change".

A protocol was signed between our university, the Gaziantep ITU Alumni Association and HKU following the Civil Dialogue for Climate Change Project which was carried out through a collaboration between our university, the University of Vienna Department of Natural Sciences, and Hasan Kalyoncu University in an effort to reduce environmental pollution in Gaziantep and Halfeti.

Thanks to the "Policy Analysis and Recommendations Report" that resulted from the joint efforts of these three institutions, the legislation on climate change in our country and EU countries was compared. As a result of this comparison, the policies that can be implemented in Turkey have been developed in light of the data obtained. Details of the report determined by examining the legislation in the European Union and Turkey can be found in Turkish and English texts from the websites of our university, the ITU Alumni Association and HKU.

The ceremony for the signing of this protocol, which is an important step in the preparation of a national strategy in the area of academic studies on climate change in our country was attended by our Rector, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Karaca, our Vice Rectors, Prof. Dr. Ali Fuat Aydın, and Prof. Dr. Telem Gök Sadıkoğlu, Rector of Hasan Kalyoncu University, Prof. Dr. Tamer Yilmaz, Gaziantep ITU Alumni Association President Adnan Akyazıcı, and Gaziantep ITU Alumni Association Project Coordinator Assist. Prof. Dr. Şafak Hengirmen Tercan.
