International Accreditation for Our Landscape Architecture Department
May 11, 2017

Our Landscape Architecture Department strengthened its leading role in the field once again as the first and only department in Turkey to receive an IFLA international accreditation.

Since its establishment 15 years ago and since its very first day as a pioneer in landscape architecture with a mission to provide high quality education at international standards, the Department of Landscape Architecture has been awarded full recognition/accreditation by the International Federation of Landscape Architects (IFLA). With the accreditation it received on April 13th, our department proved its quality of education at an international scale. The physical and social resources provided for education and training by the university, the faculty and the department are evaluated in addition to the quantities and qualifications of the scientific and professional work of the academic staff, the outputs of the education given by the department, and the performances of its graduates.

The Accreditation Board has granted our department fully recognized/accredited status due to its completely and successfully meeting of the specified criteria set out in the IFLA Guidance Document for Recognition or Accreditation. For having achieved this important success, as the ITU Family, we congratulate first our Department of Landscape Architecture Head, Prof. Dr. Hayriye Eşbah and then our academics who recruit students receiving the highest scores in the field in Turkey, and wish them continued success.
