First Step to a Cooperation Between ITU and Ambato Technical University

Our university and Ambato Technical University of the Republic of Ecuador signed a framework agreement on cooperation between institutions.

The signing, which took place on May 23rd in the Senate Chamber of the Rectorate building, was attended by our Rector, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Karaca, Ambato Technical University Rector Prof. Dr. Galo Naranjo Lopez, and our Vice Rectors, Prof. Dr. Ali Fuat Aydın and Prof. Dr. Telem Gök Sadıkoğlu.

The agreement encompasses the strengthening, development and promotion of academic, scientific and cultural business unions, as well as activities related to research, teaching, interaction with society and management of institutions. It also includes co-operation for joint research and international institutional collaboration projects, sharing of scientific information, documents and publications, short and long-term exchange of academic staff and administrative staff, and the exchange of undergraduate and graduate students. In the context of this important collaboration, the organization of conferences, seminars, symposiums and other events which vary according to the needs of the parties, are planned.

"Joint statement from the Rectors"

The Rectors issued a joint statement regarding the realization of the cooperation, indicating that provided that mutual contribution and good faith are maintained by both institutions, that the scientific, technical and commercial results obtained from the co-operative work could be published jointly, independently, or on the basis of the distribution organs of each institution, upon the explicit permission of the other party. Underlining the need to act jointly, the Rectors stressed that they would make the necessary effort to maintain the cooperation in a healthy state.
