Dual Awards for our Ph.D. Student from Taiwan

Graduate School of Natural and Applied Science, Materials Science and Engineering Program Ph.D. student Golnaz Taghavi Pourian Azar received both the silver medal and the best English presentation awards in the presentation competition for doctoral students in Taiwan.

Taghavi, who is pursuing her doctoral degree under the direction of our faculty member, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Ürgen was awarded the "TACT 2017" silver medal for her presentation titled “The Role of Superimposing Pulse Bias Voltage on DC Bias on the Macroparticle Distribution and Structure of TiAlN Coatings Produced with CA-PVD.” For the same presentation, as a non-native English speaking participant, she was the recipient of the "best English presentation" award selected by the Singapore-based Thin Film Society.
